Program Details

Graceland University’s Community of Christ Seminary department offers a Master of Arts in Religion degree. The Master of Arts in Religion program provides a strong academic base in biblical studies, theology, and Christian history. The program covers subject matter that also prepares students for Christian ministry and/or doctoral study in religion.

The program provides students with a combination of religious theory and practical studies in order to meet the need of students with different learning objectives. Students have the option to take the coursework completely online or online with a face-to-face session at the Community of Christ Temple in Independence, Missouri during the fourth week of the semester. The faculty working in the Master of Arts in Religion department are experts in the field of religion that are committed to providing students with the finest academic experience.

Some of the curriculum that is covered in the program includes Christian Theology, the history of Christian thought, participating in a Ministry practicum, and various other topics to provide students with a broad base education in Religion. Students must complete the requirements of the program in no more than three years. Graceland University requires applicants to the program to have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale and submit three recommendation letters from individuals as well.


Admission requirements: bachelors degree or equivalent with a minimum CUM GPA of 3.00. Students with a GPA below 3.00 will need to demonstrate ability to do work at the graduate level.
