Mississippi College is a four-year, private not-for-profit institution of higher education. Affiliated with the Southern Baptist church, this college is located in the city of Clinton, Mississippi. MC was founded in 1826, making it the second-oldest Baptist-affiliated College in the United States as well as the oldest college in the state of Mississippi. In 1831, the institution became the first coeducational college in the United States to grant a degree to women. Today, MC is the largest private university in Mississippi.
