Louisiana State University-Shreveport is a four-year public school located in Shreveport, Louisiana. Louisiana State University at Shreveport was opened in 1967 as a branch of the Louisiana State University System. The school is the only public four-year university in the Shreveport-Bossier area. LSUS began as a two-year institution, but after nine years was advanced to four-year status in 1976. Since then, LSUS has acquired regional and national accreditation and has added more programs.
Louisiana State University-Shreveport offers bachelor degrees, master degrees, and continuing education. LSUS offers only master's degrees completely online.
