School Details
University of Michigan-Dearborn was founded in 1959 with a gift of just over 200 acres of land and $6.5 million from the Ford Motor Co. Since registering the first class of 34 students, the institution continued to grow, setting a new enrollment record in 2012, and refine its vision for southeast Michigan: “In service to creating positive change in southeast Michigan, our vision is to earn national recognition as a dynamic metropolitan university where teaching and research interact, in an inclusive environment, to develop future leaders and new knowledge.” UM-Dearborn is dedicated to teaching students to make a positive impact and solve real-world problems.
UM-Dearborn offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, as well as certificates, from the following colleges:
- College of Arts, Sciences, & Letters
- College of Business
- College of Education, Health, & Human Services
- College of Engineering & Computer Science
Within each college, online courses are available in undergraduate programs. Nearly 20 graduate-level degrees are available in completely online formats as well. UM-Dearborn online degrees and courses include challenging, relevant coursework in small class sizes. Students in these online programs benefit from the same education as on-campus students but in a nontraditional setting.
