Mercer University is a four-year private school located in Macon, Georgia. Mercer was founded in 1833 by Billington McCarthy Sanders as a boys’ preparatory school. MU was originally affiliated with the Baptist faith but is no longer formally affiliated with the Baptist denomination. Mercer has three campuses: the main campus in Macon, a graduate and professional education campus in Atlanta, and a four-year campus of the School of Medicine in Savannah.
