About Missouri Baptist University

Missouri Baptist University is a four-year private, not-for-profit institution of higher education, located in the city of Saint Louis, Missouri. The institution was established in 1957 as Saint Louis Baptist College due to a growing need for an evangelical Christian institution in the Saint Louis area. In 1964, the college was chartered as an evangelical Christian College and was renamed Missouri Baptist College. In August 2002, the Missouri Baptist College was officially renamed Missouri Baptist University. Missouri Baptist University aims to provide its students with “a learning environment that provides an ethical and moral basis from reasoning that goes beyond the mere accumulation of facts.”

GetEducated Team Takes
Tony’s Take

Missouri Baptist University does its best work through close teaching relationships. Small classes make that possible. Professors are easy to reach and often available outside class. Class time includes discussion and personal attention.

Courses are challenging and tied to career goals. A Christian, Baptist perspective is part of daily learning. Support is strongest in the classroom. Faculty help is often clear and direct.

Administrative and financial aid steps can feel less steady. In some classes, grading may come late and feedback may be brief. Quiz style can also differ from class to class. Online options can work well for students with full-time jobs.

Advising can help students keep moving and finish on time. Missouri Baptist is a good match for students who want close faculty contact and a faith-shaped learning structure.
