Graceland University, founded over 125 years ago in 1895, is sponsored by the Community of Christ. In 1917, Graceland became the first fully accredited junior college in Iowa, and then in 1960 became a four-year college. Graceland College became Graceland University on June 1, 2000. Today, the university leads the way with its renowned nursing program as well as its reputation for education, business, and seminary degrees.
