School Details
The Georgia General Assembly granted a charter to the University of Georgia in 1785 making the school the “birthplace of the American system of public higher education.” The site was chosen and the college was established in 1801, conferring its first set of graduates just three years later. Based on the principles of “teaching, research, and service,” the University of Georgia houses seventeen colleges and schools and currently enrolls over 34,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
The University offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees, along with professional degrees in law, pharmacy, and veterinary medicine. The University of Georgia has recently launched UGAOnline in order to expand online programs, including undergraduate and graduate degrees and certificate programs. UGAOnline features student-centered teaching taught by internationally recognized faculty.
