Union College, a small, private, four-year liberal arts college, is located in the Appalachian mountain town of Barboursville, Kentucky. Union College was founded in 1879 when thirty-five local resident stockholders joined together to create a college that would help the local area grow and thrive and would create opportunities for their families. The college is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and seeks "to provide a well-rounded academic experience for its students and offers programs that enhance intellectual, social and personal transformation through pursuing wisdom, knowledge, spiritual growth and service."
Union offers bachelor's and master's degrees in liberal arts and pre-professional subjects, and many of the degrees, as well as certificates, are available in fully online formats.
