Program Details

The Bachelor of Science in Substance Abuse Counseling degree online from Union College prepares students for successful careers as substance abuse counselors.  This flexible, convenient program is available completely online with professional advisors and faculty.  The curriculum features a liberal arts foundation along with courses in substance abuse.  Additional courses are electives in other areas of psychology.  You will learn about the primary functions of substance abuse counselors, including screening, assessment, treatment planning, case management, crisis intervention, client education, and consultation with other professionals.
