School Details

Union Commonwealth University, a small, private, four-year liberal arts college, is located in the Appalachian mountain town of Barboursville, Kentucky. The university was founded in 1879 when thirty-five local resident stockholders joined together to create a college that would help the local area grow and thrive and create opportunities for their families. Union Commonwealth is affiliated with the United Methodist Church. It seeks “to provide a well-rounded academic experience for its students and offers programs that enhance intellectual, social, and personal transformation through pursuing wisdom, knowledge, spiritual growth, and service.”

The school offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees in liberal arts and pre-professional subjects. Many of the degrees and certificates are available in fully online formats. These 100% online degrees provide the flexibility busy students need to earn a degree. Union Commonwealth online degrees are taught in an accelerated format.
