School Details
Founded in 1890, Morgan State University is a four-year, public institution of higher education, located in the city of Baltimore, Maryland. MSU first opened as Centenary Biblical Institute to train young men in ministry. The school’s name was changed to Morgan College to honor the first chairman of Trustees, Reverend Lyttleton Morgan, who donated land to the college. In 1975, Morgan College became a university and was renamed Morgan State University.
Morgan State is one of the few historically black institutions nationally to offer a comprehensive range of academic programs, including programs leading to the doctorate. Morgan State University offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs from the following schools and colleges:
