School Details

In 1924, the Sisters of Mercy established Luzerne County’s first four-year institution of higher learning, College Misericordia. It was established on nearly 100 acres of land in Dallas, Pennsylvania, purchased by the Sisters for this purpose in 1914. Misericordia was founded as, and continues to be, a broad-based liberal arts and pre-professional studies university offering superior education to those of all faiths. The university has been co-educational since the 1970s.

Misericordia University is organized into three academic colleges that offer programs on the undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate levels:

  • College of Arts and Sciences
  • College of Business
  • College of Health Sciences and Education

The Center for Adult and Continuing Education at Misericordia University houses Misericordia online degrees. There are undergraduate and graduate degree programs that are predominantly online. These online degrees are designed to mesh with your work and family obligations. Learn from experienced faculty who offer a real-world perspective.
