About Oklahoma Christian University

Oklahoma Christian University was founded in 1950 as Central Christian College. When it first opened it was a two-year college, and then in 1962 the school began offering bachelor’s degrees. Before extending its degree offerings, Central Christian College changed its name to Oklahoma Christian University in 1959. As a private institution of higher education affiliated with the Churches of Christ, the University’s mission is “to provide a community that transforms lives for Christian faith, scholarship, and service.”
