About Rogers State University

Rogers State University was established in 1909 and continues today as a public, co-educational institution located in the town of Claremore, Oklahoma. RSU was founded as a state-sponsored preparatory school called Eastern University Preparatory School. Later the institution transitioned into Oklahoma Military Academy and finally into a four-year university. The school has branch campuses in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Pryor Creek, Oklahoma. Today it provides “…a general liberal arts education that supports specialized academic programs and prepares students for lifelong learning and service in a diverse society.”

RSU offers master’s, bachelor’s, and associate’s degrees. Rogers State was the first university in Oklahoma and one of the first in the United States to offer degree programs in a completely online format over the internet. Since 1992 RSU online degrees have been highly regarded academic programs. Today associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees, as well as certificates, are available as online programs.

GetEducated Team Takes
Tony’s Take

Rogers State University is built on strong relationships. Classes are small, so professors know their students. Instructors are easy to reach and stay involved. One-on-one help is a normal part of class.

Staff support is also easy to find when students need it. Classes are serious and take real effort. This is not an easy pass. Students are expected to keep up and finish strong.

Nursing, in particular, can feel intense and fast-paced. For busy adults, flexible scheduling can make school easier to manage. RSU is a good match for students who plan each term early. Course timing can shape how fast students move.

The school’s value is practical and clear. Students can earn a solid degree without taking on heavy debt. Overall, RSU combines caring support with meaningful academic challenge.
