Program Details

The online Master of Education in Special Education prepares educators to meet the educational needs of students with various disabilities. Students can be admitted to one of two programs, either the master’s degree with initial teacher certification in Texas or the master’s degree only. Students graduate with field experience in clinical teaching.

Class topics include, but are not limited to:

  •  Learning with assistive technology
  •  High incidence and low incidence disabilities
  •  Research and evidence-based behavioral strategies

No thesis is required for this degree program. Career opportunities for graduates include jobs as department coordinators, program facilitators, special education directors, administrators, teacher leaders, and more.
