Program Details
The online Master of Arts in Theology from St. Mary’s University prepares lay men and women to serve the church. It is rooted in Catholic traditions, but welcomes members of all faiths. This program stresses the importance of interfaith dialogue.
This course is dedicated to the following Marianist values:
- Servant leadership
- The importance of theological education
- Christian church communities living and growing in a family spirit
This online program instructs students in the reading and understanding theological texts and church documents, the importance of historical and philosophical influences on textual interpretation, and the proper use of effective research tools. In addition to scholarly preparation, students consider the importance of implementing results of theological research creativly. Courses include The Gospel of Matthew, The Law of Moses, The Interpretation of the History of Israel, and more.
