School Details

Southwestern Community College is a two-year public institution. Located in Creston, Iowa, SWCC has been operated by the Creston Community School District since 1926. Today, in addition to Creston, there are also centers in Red Oak and Osceola. Their stated purpose is that the institution “exists in order that community members have opportunities to gain skills and knowledge sufficient for successful employment, higher education achievement, and lifelong learning.”

Today, SWCC offers industrial training, career and technical education, adult and continuing education, distance/online learning, and transfer courses, awarding associate degrees and certificates. There are more than 400 online courses each semester as well as various 100% online degrees. SWCC online degrees provide students with an affordable and flexible learning option.
