Program Details

The Master of Science in Sport & Entertainment Management is an online sports management degree from Southern Connecticut State University.  Students have the option of choosing a specialization in sport management, entertainment management, or athletics administration.  The athletics administration specialization is designed for professionals seeking careers in the fields of interscholastic or intercollegiate athletics administration.  Students in this specialization will complete courses that provide the knowledge and skills needed for athletic leadership roles, including budgeting, marketing, risk management, supervision, and facilities.  

Those choosing the sport or entertainment management specializations in this online sports management master’s degree will complete nearly identical curriculums except for the focus on either sport or entertainment.  These students will gain skills and knowledge in theoretical concepts in specific sport and entertainment management functions, such as communication, finance, law, ethics, facility and event management, marketing, and global issues.  Courses provide an understanding of political and sociological influences in decision-making practices and teach students about the technology and skills needed for effective research and communication.
