Program Details

The online Advanced Studies in Tinnitus and Hyperacusis Certificate program provides a framework for best practices in the assessment and management of tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and hyperacusis (hypersensitivity to sound) through specialized training that expands clinicians’ knowledge.  The curriculum enhances the skills and expertise necessary to obtain a comprehensive and holistic understanding of the pathology and consequences of tinnitus and hyperacusis, and also brings the students up to date on the contemporary evidence that provides scientific support for treatment decisions.  Courses cover the neuroscience of tinnitus and hyperacusis, assessment techniques, rehabilitation and management of tinnitus patients, clinical models for the management of these patients, and public health and professional issues linked to tinnitus.


  • Curriculum requirements: 10.5 credits for completion
  • Official copy of transcript indicating confirmation of a college degree (BS, MS, AuD, PhD, MD, etc.) from an accredited institution in audiology or an audiology-related profession
