Program Details

Purdue University Global’s Bachelor of Science in Fire Science degree is recognized by the U.S. Fire Administration as an official Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education (FESHE) institution. The fire science degree program closely follows the FESHE national curriculum and is designed to provide you with foundational skills in firefighter safety, building codes, fire prevention, code inspection, and firefighting strategy and tactics.

Graduates of the bachelor’s degree in fire science program will have the opportunity to learn:

  • Analytical approaches to fire protection and investigation
  • Disaster and fire defense planning
  • Fire protection structure and system design
  • The role of the fire service within the community
  • Technical, legal, and social aspects of arson
  • The application of technology to firefighting

Requirements

  • Evidence of high school graduation or equivalent
  • Students enrolled in a criminal justice or fire science program are required to submit a criminal background check to the Purdue Global approved vendor
