School Details
Pitt Community College was founded in 1961 by the North Carolina State Board of Education as Pitt Industrial Education Center. In 1964 the school changed names to Pitt Technical Institute. It was finally in 1979 that the school changed to its current name. Pitt Community College serves students from its campus in Winterville, North Carolina. PCC provides access to learning opportunities designed to foster personal enrichment, career preparation, and higher education transfer.
PCC offers associate’s degrees, diplomas, and certificate programs with many courses that can be completed online. Some of the programs that can be completed online are in subjects related to business administration and information technology. Distance learning students work with expert faculty and collaborate with peers just like in a traditional classroom setting. There are many resources available for in-person and online students, including PCC’s library and tutoring.
