The online Certified Lean Six Sigma (CLSSCERT) Certificate program at Ohio University will help students gain the leadership and business engineering management skills they need to transition from technical work to positions requiring more knowledge and expertise in managerial tasks. This 11-credit hour, three-semester program offers an applied learning curriculum featuring real-world scenarios that students can apply in their current careers while preparing them to reach the next level.

The CLSSCERT program’s mission is to combine Lean and Six Sigma, two complementary approaches to removing waste and improving quality in industrial production. When both are practiced together, the synergies result in increased value for many companies. Employers increasingly seek Lean Six Sigma skills in potential managers. Students admitted to this certificate may also seek admission to the Master of Engineering Management (MEM) degree, and/or the MEM program’s other certificates. Two or more certificates also “stack” toward the degree.
