About Northwest State Community College

Northwest State Community College is a two-year, public institution of higher learning, located in the city of Archbold, Ohio.  Northwest State Community College was founded in 1968 as the Four County Technical Institute. In 1994, the school officially became a community college and was given its current name. Today Northwest State offers classes at the main campus in Archbold and in various satellite locations. The mission of Northwest State Community College is “to serve by providing access to excellent and affordable education, training, and services that will improve the lives of individuals and strengthen communities.” 

Northwest State Community College awards associate degrees and certificates that can be transferred into a four-year degree program at partnering colleges. Programs are housed within four different academic divisions. These divisions are:

  • Arts and Sciences
  • Business & Public Services
  • Nursing & Allied Health
  • STEM & Industrial Technologies

In addition to traditional, face-to-face classes, Northwest State Community College offers online classes, hybrid classes, and web-enhanced classes to help accommodate the busy schedules and diverse learning styles of its students. There is also a fully online degree program. With Northwest State Community College online, students are able to take quality, affordable online classes from anywhere with internet service.
