School Details
Northwest Iowa Community College was founded in 1966 and is a two-year, public institution of higher learning located in the city of Sheldon, Iowa. It was the first technical and the first area vocational school. NCC’s mission states that it “is a progressive learning college rapidly responding to the global needs of our changing community.” It is committed to “giving students opportunities to gain cutting-edge knowledge and skills.”
Academic offerings include associate degrees, transfer programs, certificate programs, and individual coursework. Northwest Community College, in conjunction with the Iowa Community College Online Consortium (ICCOC), offers a number of online degrees, as well as over 750 individual courses online. NCC online degrees are taught by either NCC instructors or instructors at another ICCOC school, but regardless of where your instructor is, you are still considered an NCC student. This means all the support services available to campus students are also available to students learning online.
