Program Details

With a Graduate Certificate in Experiential Teaching and Learning, educators will learn how to create meaningful, hands-on learning experiences for their students. The program is designed for current K-12 teachers who want to move from more traditional teaching methods to experiential learning developed to meet the needs of diverse learners.

Experiential learning has been shown to help promote increased student engagement and achievement, as well as foster equity. The practice encourages student agency, social emotional development, and self-authorship. Teachers will learn how to design, implement, and evaluate curricula in regard to student responses and outcomes. 

Program participants will complete coursework in the following areas:

  • Theory and practice of experiential learning
  • Culturally responsive experiential teaching and learning
  • Leadership in experiential teaching and learning
  • Applied research in experiential teaching and learning
