Prepare for a career working with an important part of the student population with this online special education degree. Designed for those with a bachelor’s degree who want to become licensed special education teachers, this program provides initial licensing that allows graduates to work with students with mild/moderate disabilities in grades K to 12. Gain the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to become an excellent special education instructor at the elementary, middle, and secondary levels. Courses focus on such topics as:

  • Characteristics of learners
  • Evidence-based special education methods
  • Diagnostic and prescriptive reading and math, assessment, and IEP development
  • Classroom and behavior management
