The Master of Science in Early Intervention is an online special education degree from Mississippi State University.  There is a need for trained professionals with expertise in working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers with special needs and with their families.  This innovative and comprehensive program helps to fill this need, providing students with the expertise needed to fill these roles.  The curriculum helps students become child development experts capable of designing and modifying evidence-based plans to improve the highest level of function for young children.  All MSU programs use research as a central means of teaching and this program is no different, but you will also study developmental, ecological, and family systems theories and recommended practices that emphasize the interactive nature of child development.  Coursework uses a variety of approaches that acknowledge the central role of family in a child’s life by providing services in natural, community-based, and clinical environments.
