Program Details

The online Associate of Applied Science in Medical Administrative Assistant program prepares students to work within medical facilities by teaching about the responsibilities that include assisting patients and medical professionals in front office and back office responsibilities.  The curriculum teaches students about providing basic medical support in routine examinations, collecting samples, and the responsibilities involved in the administrative duties of an office, such as medical billing, reception, patient care, and other non-medical responsibilities.  Graduates will be able to identify, administer, and document medications; collect, process, and test diagnostic specimens and document follow-up results; apply quality control and safety principles in the workplace; and perform and document routine clinical procedures according to office protocol.
