School Details
Milligan University blends community, faith and scholarship to create educated professionals with a sense of dedication to servant leadership. As a Christian liberal arts university, the school is non-denominational, but engages a culture of commitment to follow the teachings of Christian scriptures from personal, professional and social perspectives. Nestled in the northeast corner of Tennessee, the campus dates back to 1866 when it was founded as a private secondary school. It was quickly elevated to the collegiate level to serve the Appalachian community.
Milligan continues to serve the Appalachian region, but now has a more diverse student population, representing dozens of states from all over the US. Faculty comprises teaching professionals, not graduate students or assistants. In fact, more than 80% of the professors at the university hold terminal degrees. In keeping with progress and technology, the school has expanded their offerings to online degrees and certificates in a range of subjects. In addition to the Emmanuel Christian Seminary, Milligan’s academic departments include:
- The School of Arts & Humanities
- William B Greene Jr. School of Business & Technology
- School of Social Sciences & Education
- School of Sciences & Allied Health
- School of Bible & Ministry
Accreditation & Licensing
Milligan University is accredited by:
