About Lorain County Community College
Lorain County Community College is a two-year public school located in Elyria, Ohio. Lorain has partnerships with several four-year universities to bring bachelor and graduate degrees to the residents of Lorain County. Under this partnership, many Ohio universities offer programs to students right on the Lorain County Community College campus.
Lorain County Community College offers certificates of completion and associate’s degrees. Certifications that students can earn are available in short-term certifications as well as in one-year certifications. LCCC’s associate of arts degree may be completed entirely online. Students can also complete an associate of arts degree by taking a combination of online, blended and on-campus classes. All modes of distance learning delivery have certain access requirements, and each instructor may have special requirements for his/her course section.
Online programs include associate degrees, accelerated associate degrees (15 months), one-year general or technical certificates, short-term general or technical certificates, and certificates of completion. Some programs require Work Based Learning, which can usually be completed in-person at a site convenient to the student. Some Work Based Learning can be completed fully online. Live Chat is ideal for quick questions or handling tasks during a break at work. Student Services host live chat hours, staffed by real people who can verify student’s identity, access records, and help answer questions. If additional time is needed, Student Services can also get students connected with a virtual appointment or other resources. All students have an Academic Advisor, and appointments can be facilitated virtually (via video conference).
