Program Details
Liberty University’s online Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) – Early Childhood Special Education and General Curriculum is designed to equip you to teach children with special needs of all ages. By earning dual endorsements in general curriculum and early childhood special education, students can be better prepared to meet the varying needs of many school districts. Students who have a non-licensure bachelor’s degree in education and those without a previous degree in education make excellent candidates for our M.A.T. in Special Education – Early Childhood Special Education and General Curriculum. In addition to offering dual endorsement, our M.A.T. in Special Education is designed to lead to initial teaching licensure in the state of Virginia. This program applies to more than just the education field – students who are interested in working with children with special needs in other settings are also great candidates for our M.A.T. in Special Education – Early Childhood Special Education and General Curriculum. Upon graduation, students may pursue careers in school districts as special education teachers, educational consultants, curriculum developers, or individualized education plan (IEP) coordinators.
