Program Details

Liberty University’s 100% online Bachelor of Science in Cultural Engagement is designed to help students navigate complex moral issues in today’s culture. Students who want to work as ministry leaders and Christian nonprofit workers can enrich their understanding of the connection between culture and the church, allowing them to spread the truth of Christ to our hurting world. Through courses in global studies, apologetics, theology, and biblical studies, students can develop a firm foundation in Scripture and learn how to communicate effectively on a variety of cultural topics. In particular, this program explores the modern debate surrounding human rights, education, politics, and competing worldviews. Students can learn how to contextualize the Gospel in diverse settings, connect with the people around them, and engage with some of life’s hardest questions. The B.S. in Cultural Engagement is ideal for students who want to conduct culture-related writing, reflection, and teaching within church, parachurch, and nonprofit settings. Upon graduation, students can pursue roles as bloggers, Christian advocacy group leaders, church planters, community organizers, education ministry directors, missions directors, nonprofit ministry leaders, public policy group leaders, publishing assistants, and worship directors.
