Program Details

Liberty University’s online Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering equips students to be creative problem-solvers for infrastructure and public services in public and private spheres. As the foundational branch of modern engineering, the civil engineering program provides a balance of flexible skills that apply to almost any industry. The B.S. in Civil Engineering is designed to train students to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by using principles of engineering, science, and mathematics. Students in the B.S. in Civil Engineering study skills in cost and risk assessment, environmental hazards, government regulations, structural mechanics, and many other skills that relate to specific engineering applications for industrial, military, and government settings. These skills will help students plan, design, build, and maintain facilities for highways, railroad systems, mass transit, airports, and many other critical services. Students will also gain the benefit of hands-on training and mentorship through on-campus intensives in cutting-edge lab facilities. With these skills, graduates of the B.S. in Civil Engineering will be well-equipped to pursue roles as construction managers, environmental engineers, geotechnical engineers, project managers, and transportation engineers.
