About Hagerstown Community College
Founded in 1946 as Maryland’s first community college, Hagerstown Community College (HCC) is a 319-acre campus located in western Maryland. HCC has over 100 programs of study, including remedial and developmental courses to help students prepare for college-level courses. These programs are also available for career preparation, personal development, university transfer, and non-credit continuing education courses.
HCC currently offers almost 250 online and hybrid courses in a variety of different subjects and new courses are being added each semester. There are also associate’s degree and certificate programs offered at least 75% online. HCC online degrees feature the same high standards as courses offered on campus. The faculty and staff receive regular training to maintain and improve their teaching skills in this program that has adopted best practices from the Quality Management (QM) organization.
