About Guilford Technical Community College
In 1958, the Guilford Industrial Education Center (GIEC) opened its doors, and what is now known as GTCC was born. From its humble beginning as North Carolina’s “first training school, established through the cooperative efforts of education and industry” to its flagship status as a comprehensive community college in 1983, GTCC is still “Guilford County’s most unique educational institution.”
GTCC offers certificates, diploma completion, and associate’s degrees. Many of these degrees are also available online. GTCC online degrees are both convenient and affordable. Students completing online learning pay the same tuition rates and fees as those taking courses on campus but can study wherever it is convenient.
