If you have a graduate nursing degree as a nurse practitioner but want to work specifically with pediatric patients, Creighton University has a degree for you.  The Post-Graduate Certificate in Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program online prepares students to care for pediatric patients in acute care and critical care settings.  The curriculum provides a theoretical and practical base for diagnosing and managing pediatric patients.  You will begin with courses that involve emergency care settings and common pediatric disorders, building on this foundation to courses that deal with acute care and chronically ill or medically fragile children.  Courses likely include:

  • Care of the Pediatric Patient in the Urgent/Emergency Setting
  • Care of the Acute and Chronically Ill Child
  • Care of the Critically Ill Child

Graduates are competent in this new advanced nursing role and are eligible to sit for the certification exam.
