Program Details

The online Associate of Applied Science in Health Information Technology provides students with the training and knowledge to become employed as health information management professionals. Students will study information systems, health information policy, clinical workflow, and health data management. Graduates will be able to sit for the National Registered Health Information Technician Certification Examination.

Classes include, but are not limited to:

  • Reimbursement methodologies
  • Clinical quality management
  • Healthcare data analytics and statistics

Career opportunities for graduates include clinical coding specialist, health data analyst, physician practice manager, patient information coordinator, insurance claims analyst, and others. The curriculum includes physiology, human anatomy, three coding courses, and a 120-hour capstone work experience.
