Program Details

The Crisis Intervention concentration of this online Master of Arts in Criminal Justice allows you to gain broad-reaching criminal justice skills and knowledge while choosing specialization coursework specific to your interests and career goals. Students in the Crisis Intervention track will choose six courses from nearly 20 options in this focus area.

Core coursework consists of advanced-level studies of American Constitutional law, criminal and civil law, correctional leadership, and research methods. In addition, this track allows students to learn about crisis counseling, domestic violence, victim advocacy, emergency management, domestic terrorism, and more. Courses offer the opportunity to become skilled in trauma-informed investigation, de-escalation techniques, navigating mental health emergencies, and crisis communication.
