Program Details
The MA in Diaconal Ministry offered online by Wartburg Theological Seminary is a program that prepares students to enter service within the church as a deacon. Upon completion of the program, you will meet the Deacon of the Evangelical Lutheran Church candidacy requirements. Wartburg’s program takes two years, at a minimum, to complete and integrates a rotation in clinical pastoral care, a 1000-hour internship and a research project. Distance students are expected to attend week-long sessions on campus at the beginning of each semester and complete a January-term course or travel experience each year, as well.
