Wartburg Theological Seminary is a Lutheran seminary that was founded in 1854, and is located in Dubuque, Iowa. WTS serves the mission of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and is a worship-centered environment of critical theological reflection, where learning leads to mission. WTS educates its graduates to serve the church’s mission as ordained and lay leaders. The WTS community seeks to embody the mission of God by stewarding resources for engaging, equipping and sending leaders who interpret, proclaim and live Jesus Christ’s gospel for a world made for communion with God and in need of social and personal healing.
Online courses are offered as part of the Distributed Learning Programs for the Master of Divinity, Master of Arts and Master of Arts in Diaconal Ministry, and TEEM and Certificate Program, and are also open to individuals that are not enrolled in a degree or certificate program, but have an interest in theological education, or are pursuing continuing education.
