Program Details

Valdosta University offers an online Master of Education in Health and Physical Education. This degree helps professionals in the field of physical education become more effective teachers in their craft. Mainly focused on teaching pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, this curriculum guides teachers to study health technologies and instructional methods to help students reach their fullest potential in health and physical activity.


  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally-accredited institution
  • Applicants must hold a valid level four certificate in Georgia or a reciprocal state in health education and/or physical education
  • Must have access to P-12 learners in a physical education school or related setting
  • Minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 Scale
  • Applicants having a cumulative GPA between 2.5 and 2.749 on a 4.0 scale must submit a Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Miller Analogies Test (MAT) score
  • Three recommendation letters from professionals familiar with the candidate's professional and/or academic work
  • A written statement (400-500 words) describing the candidate's interest in the program and post-degree plans
