Founded in 1962, the University of the Virgin Islands is a public, co-ed, land-grant HBCU (Historically Black College and University) in the United States Virgin Islands. Though the school has a physical campus location in the Caribbean, one campus in St. Croix and the other in St. Thomas, students can now pursue distance education degrees at UVI. The school established approval for online degrees in 2017, with enrollment beginning in 2018.
