Master of Education in Educational Media

Program Details

The online MEd in Educational Media program from the University of South Alabama prepares students to plan, design, and administer school libraries and qualifies them to serve as school librarians in P-12 schools. Courses cover topics such as:

  • Microcomputing Systems in Education
  • Curriculum Media for Children 
  • Curriculum Media for Young Adults
  • Information Literacy
  • Media Center Management
  • Library Media Programs


  • One official copy of all undergraduate and graduate transcripts
  • Two letters of recommendation from persons familiar with the applicant's academic and/or professional abilities
  • A two page narrative from the applicant indicating the applicant's goal(s) and purpose(s) for pursuing the field of Educational Media, and the dispositions that make the applicant a good candidate for helping P-12 students learn
  • Baccalaureate-level or master's level valid certificate in teaching field
  • Results of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), including the Analytical Writing component (required of all applicants, regardless of degrees and certificates previously earned)
  • A resume with a chronology of professional employment
  • Two full years of full-time, acceptable professional education work experience
