Program Details

The online Certificate of Advanced Study in Health Informatics is designed for health information professionals and librarians who want new careers in the field of health informatics, enhancing the range of professional and technical skills and competencies they already have while exploring more advanced applications.  The curriculum provides a solid grounding in information science, health information, biotechnology, and in the supportive technology; while the conceptual components of the program includes the design, integration, implementation, evaluating, and management of health information systems, clinical information systems, community-based information systems, telemedicine, Internet-based medical information retrieval resource management, and others.  Students are given the flexibility to design a course structure according to individual career goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent
  • Official transcripts from all colleges attended
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher in undergraduate degree
