School Details
The University of Nebraska – Lincoln has been in the distance education business for more than 100 years. The Lincoln campus, located in Lincoln, Nebraska, was chartered by the legislature in 1869 as a land-grant university. Since 1909, distance education became a part of the school, providing opportunities to individuals with a lack of local options for education. The paper-based correspondence courses of the 20th Century eventually evolved into the online distance education programs of today – offering the same quality and rigor of on-campus counterparts.
Programs extend from bachelor’s programs, to graduate opportunities, including several different doctoral degrees. Studies range from science and business, to education and human services. Programs are offered completely online, in addition to blended formats. The faculty at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln has been named Fulbright Scholars, American Association for the Advancement of Science Fellows, National Endowment for the Humanities and National Science Foundation career winners, and more.
