Program Details

The online Master of Social Work at the University of Central Florida is more than just an investment in your professional future—it’s a powerful resource for improving quality of life for individuals, families and groups within underserved or at-risk populations. Students will develop the therapeutic skills needed to successfully engage clients and assist with setting and prioritizing goals. They will also learn how to advocate for the needs of others, promote the overall wellness of children and families in a range of settings and pursue positive social change through advanced social work practice. The demand for highly trained professional social workers has grown in recent years, and career opportunities abound for graduates with master’s degrees in social work. 

Graduates can seek employment from a variety of organizations and industries, such as:

  • public school districts
  • substance abuse treatment programs
  • nursing homes
  • long-term care facilities
  • home care agencies and hospices
  • government agencies, legislative offices and research institutions

  • Official transcripts
  • Must have earned a BSW from a CSWE-accredited program within the last six years
  • GPA of 3.3
  • The GRE or GMAT may be required
