The University of Alabama offers the online Master of Social Work, a program where students can learn how to improve social conditions for those in their state and throughout the United States. As a student in the MSW program, you can increase your knowledge of social problems and their solutions, and develop the skills to promote social justice and human dignity for all people.
Two concentrations are offered to students:
- Children, Adolescents and their Families
- Adults and their Families
A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. A GPA of at least 3.0 overall or a 3.0 average for the last 60 semester hours of coursework toward a completed degree. For conditional admission – A GPA of at least 2.5 overall and a score at the 50th percentile or higher on the MAT, or at least 300 or above for the GRE. A 42-credit hour Advanced-Standing Program is available.
Attendance at the on campus orientation session is mandatory. Program is primarily online with face-to-face skills labs held at regional locations on selected Saturdays across the state of Alabama.
