Program Details

The online MS in Biological Sciences degree program from Texas A & M University – Commerce is designed for biology teachers who are interested in expanding their knowledge in biology and acquiring the necessary degree for dual credit and college-level teaching. It is not recommended for students interested in pursuing PhD or other advanced degrees. Courses explore topics such as:

  • Pharmacology
  • Epigenetics
  • Vertebrate Endocrinology
  • Human Physiology
  • Hydrology


  • Undergraduate degree in Biology or a related discipline from an accredited institution with a minimum grade point average of 2.75 overall or 3.0 on last 60 hours
  • A minimum of 12 semester hours of Junior or Senior-level Biology classes with a score of B (80%) or better
  • All graduate and undergraduate transcripts
  • At least one of the following:
    • Official GRE scores
    • Passing score for the TExES for Life Science 8-12 #138 or Life Science 7-12 #238
    • Passing score for the TExES for Science 8-12 #136 or Science 7-12 #236
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Letter of intent
  • A personal interview with graduate faculty in the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences if deemed necessary
