The online Master of Arts in Reading program prepares graduates for careers in both public and private educational settings in which the primary focus is on addressing the needs of students in the context of reading. The curriculum provides competencies in various areas of literacy including reading, writing, listening, speaking, viewing, and visual representation which contributes to a broader understanding of topics including curriculums, instruction, and literacy dynamics that students face. The Master of Art option does not include a thesis or any certification options.

- Hold a valid Texas teaching certificate, have successful scores on the TExES exam, or have a satisfactory score on the combined verbal and quantitative portions of the GRE
